So I made this grey shift dress.
It’s the first time I attempted to make sleeves and I think it turned out pretty sweet! Originally I had a longer hemline and I felt hideous and frumpy in it, so I shortened it.
Also, because I’m more “bottom heavy”, by enhancing my waste-line I create the illusion of being slimmer. And, in case you didn’t notice, I have small boobies – by raising the neckline, I made a wider bust area thus creating the illusion of more… “fullness” around the chest area. I don’t know about you, but I am obsessed with this dress. It’s such an easy piece to wear and style.
I feel like I finally know my body shape well – what works for me and what doesn’t and I just love how clothing allows us as women to do that!
I just love how I can now CREATE whatever I want now that I’ve gotten into this whole sewing gig. I love it! I have found my calling, my passion, and I cannot explain how exhilarating it feels to just… create and to be able to rock that creation. It’s empowering.
I went fabric shopping this past weekend and I got so much stuff! I cannot wait to show you my future creations. But until then… have an awesome week. Mwah!
